I'll keep my skin thin,
flexible and fragile.
See through me to the
spider veins
coffee stains
bad habits and
prayers whispered under each breath
to maintain this quiet.

Chaos theory saw me coming
but the Calm likes to forget
we were expecting company.

I know not all who wander are lost but
I wonder if it's within my power
to wean myself off from
what I can't not think of.
I am just trying to carry on further than I've ever gone
before.
