I feel sorry for you
You, who cannot handle the
Three letter word
Because of your own embarrasment
Because you know it's you, too
You giggle
Talk loudly
To cover the slippery sound of It
Afraid your face will turn
Red and Betray you
You hide in your laughter
And dismiss those beneath you
As sideshow carnival attractions for the taking
Yet inside your jealousy consumes you
As unrequited passions linger and create
Within a boiling furnace of unreached potential
I feel sorry for you
You, who
Disavow your claim to life's celebration
In the name of Another's Benefit
Another's Standard
That you would and will breach yourself
But within the secrecy of your own confines
And beyond the reach of prying eyes
A sweetly guilty sin and secret
To lord over those you demean
Are you so much better my closet siren?
I think not
I feel sorry for you
