I wear these shackles proudly
A symbol of my love
For they don't contain me
Or restrain me
Not when I'm bound to you
Others may hear them clank and bang
Or see the marks they leave
Wondering why I bear so much
What wrong I've done so rare
Their vision blurred
By their own needs
Can't explain to those who fail to grasp
Of love's true understanding
Oh I've purchased every link
Earning more each passing day
I carry them they have no weight
Never more than I can bear
No steel's too strong
Nor iron toll my resolve
Nary hammer can shatter that lock
For my heart forged that latch
And that I've given to you
