In the twilight when all that’s left is dreams
and the long day of breath is in us no more
when the core sores, leaving sorrow behind
and the shell crumbles back into the dust
from which it came, I will be with you still.
~
Each sun living but a day hides my smile
the very flowers soak up my residual love
in the rain storm’s thunder of our moments
every moon road on water points the way
back to the place where I wait for you still,
~
and I would hate to lose you in the darkness.
