When night has fallen and all is still
At the children's playground on the hill
The shadow people come out to play
This time they've waited for throughout the day.

The noisy humans have all gone home
At last, at last, they're free to roam
To play the games that only they know
Games they learned in the long ago.

They flitter about in the pale moonlight
Darting and dancing througout the long night
Til Dawn's rosy light comes to the sky
To their places they scamper as humans come by.

They bide their time til once again
Their world is free of the children of men
If the world continues in its current way
One day soon there may be only they.
