Emerging from the shadows
And slipping from the mists
Darkness is falling
And a shimmering moon lights my way

He’s there, out of the corner of my eye
Blending into the forested mountains
He’s waiting…watching
Moments pass as curiosity brings him closer
His gaze piercing, hungry in it’s fascination

Silence but for the night sounds
He the hunter and I, the hunted one
Anticipation
Fear
A mingling of interested thought

A twinkling of stars
A play of light
And beast merges into man

A slight smile
A small fluttering
And he turns back towards the forested mountains

A question on my lips
The shadows call my name
Uncertain if I should follow this one unknown to me
Uncertain if I should turn back from whence I came...
