Shadows of the Past

Darkness falls across the world,
the shadows hiding all.
Footsteps come from behind,
no one to see at all.

Secrets of love and fear,
fly through my mind.
Hear the whispers pouring in,
coming from behind.

Who could use the shadows,
have the darkness as its friend.
Could it be my mind,
putting empty ghosts behind

There they are again.
