there was no candy in eden's garden,
nor any red nor any meat, just healthy things
like fruit, bad side affects excepted

but by design, i'm drawn to sugar
like a bee or insulin and morose weakness
for your body has thus led me into sin

i stand infected, troubled, breathing
scents i cannot comprehend, yet i am striving
without purpose for your carbon pentagrams

that spell out lust or, maybe, hunger or
some other stratagem, perhaps tired, sometimes lost,
and then despair just settles in and

then i find i have no raincoat
and i'm left drenched in you again

I think you got it just right

You explained the pain of an eating addiction so well in this poem. How similar is this addiction to those of Meth, Cocaine, Heroin or Alcohol no one who has not craved the comfort of food will know.

I especially liked the way you described the aftermath of being drenched with no coat. It describes the guilty aftermath so well.

Bad sugar!

A sad commentary on today's eating habits. I love the sounds and wordplay here.

Another odd piece where you find she tastes so good

And you want some more of that sweet yummy

That leaves you so confused and hungry.
