Shape shifters

A cool winter moon
Rises slowly over the forest
Serene in her majesty
Soft illumination falls
As greens and browns shift through fantasy shapes
Changing and twisting
To a monochromatic alien landscape

In the antiseptic, sterile man created cityscape
Harsh angular unforgiving concrete
Is silvered with shimmering waves of light
As night creatures prowl
Writhing on the edge of perception
Halting flickers on the periphery of vision
Haunting slow and seductive
Dancing to an unheard rhythm
Our ancestors captured in smoky pictures on cave walls
Timeless moments caught and confined
In magenta colours shifting
Shape changers under the timeless winter moon
