of pottery
of glass
edges sharp
from broken things
some beautiful
others plain
some glitter in the light
others only gleam dully
some have color or patterns
ridged whorls, painted stripes
blue tints, red glaze
mostly ignored, forgotten
from broken things
not needed
tossed aside, trash
but once part of a whole
needed, wanted
things of beauty, things of use
now just
shards
