(The repercussion of drinking and driving)

I never heard a sound she said,
As they pulled her from the wreck.
It was a though, through time and space,
All sound had disappeared.

No sound was heard, no life flashed back,
No slowly moving pictures,
Just broken bodies scattered,
And life’s tragedies abound.

Now no one laughs they all just cry,
There is no longer joy.
And all because of one last beer,
One last one for the ride.

I never heard a sound she said,
As they lay her on the ground,
And as her life force left her,
She never made a sound.

So now he stands beside her grave,
With background noise aplenty,
His angst-filled cries of sorry,
Float unaccepted on the wind.

I can not answer you, she said,
And I can not forgive,
But for the want of one last beer,
And now I can not live.
