She Waits
She sits there all alone
She Waits...
She sees'the little child
Over there,
Sitting there all alone
Watching her wait.
She waits for something
In all her pain,
Feeling like she is being
Swallowed up again.
Never felt so all alone,
Her heart hard as stone
Feeling it cut to the bone.
Their eyes meet
The little girl and her
She realizes
They are one in the same,
Playing this waiting game.
Both sitting alone,
Both waiting
Always waiting...
She sits there all alone
She waits...
Waits for something more
For the opening of the door,
Maybe touch the core.
Something tangile
Something to hold on too.
This feeling of insignificance
Overwhelming,
All consuming.
She remembers
Through the eyes of the child
Wating,always waiting
Wanting,needing,
Always inside bleeding
For something not there.
They sit there alone,
Side by side
She faces the little girl
From long ago.
Reaching out to her
Embracing lovingly
She cries with tears
In her eyes,
For the little girl inside
Their hurts and anger
They did confide.
Looking up,
Reality sets in
The child is within.
Tears streaming
Down her face,
Now a woman
Sits in her place.
Still sits there all alone
Still she waits...
Always waiting.
