Since I last gave an update
On my life's strangest journey
How Shifa hosed out my life
Like a high powered guerney

How she filled all the holes
Like a 'no more gaps' filler
Helped me weather my storms
Kept both hands on my tiller

Things have moved on again
As they so often they do
And we now have a boy
No not one, we have two

It's been almost nine years
Since the day we got married
And we wear the strain well
Like a load, gently carried

Yes we had a strange start
We were strangers who chatted
But the way that we started
Hardly seems to have mattered

In the time that we've grown
Both with kids and in love
Some of our idol couples
Now don't fit like a glove

Perfect couples they were
Or that's what we thought
Now their relationships fractured
With their lessons untaught

So we'll now find our own way
To our own happy home
No more need for role models
No more desire now to roam

With the two sons you bore me
There is joy in my heart
And the love built between us
Means we never will part
