She professed there was no one else
But, inside he felt a nagging unrest
that intimate moments were being shared
as he could now feel another heart
now beating in her chest

He wondered how anyone in love
could just give that part away
and manage to act nonplussed
as if it were just another day.

How could she look him
dead in the eye
while she shares that part of herself
which should be reserved
for whom your relationship is tied?

How can she just put their love away
everytime their intimacy is betrayed
As if a pair of just washed socks
folded away to be worn...... on another day

No longer could he
let her honesty ring true
when those things he thought
she only said to him
he knew were being said for two.

He knew his heart would break
whichever step he took
direction wouldn't matter
his foundation, already shook

Does he kiss her and just walk away
Or fall at her feet, begging her to stay?
Those are questions I can't answer now
But, I suggest you ask again
......on another day.
