In the silent hours, I can relax.
I'm able to digest all the
impressions of my day.
Faces, sounds, cute dogs, and hot guys.
I saw a guy today, that looked just like you.
Do you ever have that experience?
Outside, the city is sleeping.
The streets are empty.
All the shining cars are standing in line,
resting between each other.
It is peaceful.
The only sound in the house,
is my cat playing 'Eat the mouse'.
In the silent hours,I can relax.
I liked this. I had the impression it was the imagined conversation one has with his or her lover when alone. The simple language and syntax added to that affect for me. The only end rhymes of the poem in lines 12 & 13 gave it a nice touch too; however, the comma ending line 12 isn't necessary.
