Silence
Silence is not golden,
but is every shade of gray.
It shouts its presence
while keeping words at bay.
It offers no solutions or
avenues for rapport;
it starts with little,
but always needs more.
This space that spans real time-
commands and demands
without reason or rhyme.
It's a contrary child,
so proud and aloof.
Silence condemns,
but who can offer reproof?
