Young, alone, and frightened
The little girl with big blue eyes
Worried about a beating
Worried about the lies

Each night as she runs from monsters
Acquainted with nightmares and sad thoughts
Another night of wet pillowcases
Crying silently without getting caught

Growing into a women
Understanding little about love
Wishing to be normal
To fly away like a beautiful dove

Finally with great success
Professional women she becomes
Some say she is beautiful
Never believing, feeling dumb

The years do pass
She searches everywhere
Trying to find what is missing
Finding someone who will care

Each night as she runs from monsters
Acquainted with nightmares and sad thoughts
Another night of wet pillowcases
Crying silently without getting caught
