Evening congeals around the fading light;
warm stickiness closes in still blankets.
Emeralds of desire dance in your eyes
as a night heron tirelessly searches.

Slowly I walk up the bank,
carefully feeling each slippery step,
wanting only to unlock the golden hasp,
embrace your tenderness deep within.

My life-force beats a timeless rhythm,
holding fast to our ancient history,
describing lifes and loves we both have shared,
silent acknowledgment of oneness.

Smiles cross and meet in-between beats
enticingly caressing the heavy air.
This love knows no boundaries here,
it crosses dimensions leaving no trails.

As your hand draws close to mine
energy arcs and forms sacred patterns
upon my awaiting open palm,
bringing abundance to open hearts.

This bliss that comes from far above,
carried by angels to one destination
will always live in love’s harmony,
together forever, you and I.

Read Syndra Lynn's comment!

When I put on the ratty old sweater of poet, the only thing I find as rewarding as crafting words is the whittling away of what's-not-needed.

This poem is worth that trimming.

I like this

trim it a bit and edit once more and it could be amazing
