My long unruly curls, khol-rimmed honey eyes
DD–licious curves
Toys in the closet
Silk and black patent, hand embroidery

Your regulation cut dark hair, everyman looks
frame like a kid before the gravitas of age
In the closet (?)
Khaki slacks, oxford shirts, standard American uniforms

In a sex appeal contest
Even those unappreciative of exotica (outside of vampire series)
Would agree:

I kick your ass, sailor.

But in our covert, convoluted private battle
of yes no maybe what if I say this do that confusion

My ass is kicked

I'd trade in my name
Denounce that exotic pedigree
in favor of my maternal bland mid-western ancestry
Swap my lingerie for one of your old t-shirts

For a night entangled in your JC Penney standard cotton sheets
and the chance to show you why

Your finest weapon
thrust deep into
this melting pot of mine
Could be the best America can offer

Both of us
