silly little girl
hurt herself again
let herself believe
but why?
each time hurts a little more
but she does it to herself
knowing at the onset
it's only a pipe dream
and yet
she allows herself to dream
each time, every time
thinking this will be the one
but
but there won't be a one
she should know this by now
that this game
their game
is for keeps
and she's all in
she's all in
which is maybe why
she lets herself dream
and, inevitably,
hurt.
