One plate at a time you chide, carrying
amber broth swirling into steamy wisps.
One bowl, one spoon was the only rule.
Smooth and sweet the liquid spills into our mouths.

We talked between smiles and scents of shellfish
The last spoonful slipping it contents down your throat.
I watch the single amber drop,
escaping from the corner of your mouth.

Seductively your tongue clears the flavor from your lips
I pout at the loss; I wanted to play the napkin.
We kiss to clear our palettes for the next course,
"something spicy is next you whisper."

My hunger grows, as I lose my appetite.
One plate at a time
