Contained within the darkness
See the past come seeping through
Brilliance conjoured out of memories
As we dreamers often do
And I wonder if I'd miss it
As if one could miss the past
It's like holding on to shadows
One's grip can never last
So instead we paint reflections
Of the way it used to be
And we frighten off the darkness
With the images we see
