I watch you. I watch your skin.

Skin
rain coated
glistering
cold from the outside
glowing from within

Hands
palms up
clenching air
clenching hair
then, on skin
pulling, pleading

Chest
heaving, shivering
a single shallow vein
blue lightning tattoo
on a round, pale breast
warmer now, caressed by the sun
painted golden after the rain

Neck
arched, strained,
kissed, licked, bitten
coated by rain, grass
and strands of hair

Hair
on your skin
in your face
hair on grass
grass in hair
sticky, wet, tangled
sweat, rain, mud and grass

Mouth
a gasp, a tremble
a scream without sound
a flicker of a smile

Eyes
no eyes, just lids
curved brows, dark lashes
and a tear, or rain

Skin
my skin on your skin
above, around, within
thighs on hips, calves around waist
heels in my back, pushing, driving
deeper, deeper, and finally
deeper than I could ever reach

Your eyes shoot open, locking mine.
A straight line of fire, a stretched singularity.
Connection, telepathy, nexus, union.

I used to watch you. Now I see you.

There is no skin.
