How insidious the venom there
that lies along your nasty rusty narrow blade
that you now do wave so wildly about:
flailing born of desperation, rage and vile disposition.

Oh, though I can turn away the knife,
the blows do tax my strength
and the rancid venom still persists
to yield a creeping pestilance of heart and soul.

I do not fear the nick or cut
from such a clumsy sword attack
but of dripping toxins so vily spread
that they seep inside and poison those who still find love
with a cold and lingering doubt.
