With the heart and soul of a slave,
She wondered when she stopped being so brave.
Stealing away like a thief in the night,
Whatever made her think she had the right.
Whatever made her think she could do it?
When her heart, her soul, her essence, is but a conduit.

The feelings she tried so hard to supress,
The whys, the hows are anyone’s guess.
She tried so hard to stow them away, tuck them out of sight.
To keep them hidden, not allowing them flight.

Slowly though, they show their face,
Her heart quickens, her pulse begins to race.
Feeling the burn, the heat, the fire,
Hotter and hotter, the flames licking higher.

She hungers and wants- needs more,
The wicked slut, the decadent whore.
This is who she is, she thinks with pride,
Knowing that the truth will never subside.

The journey of self-discovery was long,
Venturing on paths, that were sometimes wrong.
But knowing in her heart that right along she was right,
To reach for the sun, the stars shining bright.
Even at those times when she thought she was weak,
When the path ahead looked dark and bleak.

She knows that without the pain and tears,
With facing the aloneness, and all her fears.
She’d never change a single moment of the years,

The feelings are running wild and free,
She knows that this is as she was meant to be.
She is slave,
She will be so very strong and brave.
Finding all that it is that she craves.
