They trace my anger, these lines, my veins
Derisive laughter burns my brain
I cover the mirror to hide my shame
Curse God and Fate and plead in vain
For sleep

68 buttons, tiny and white
Make promises to end this night
This bleeding, brutal, endless fight
My eyes explode and scream in this light
For sleep

If I wasn't so angry or cold, I would cry
If I wasn't so weak or strong, I would die
If I wasn't so stupid or smart, I would lie
To myself
Instead of asking why
I can't sleep

Contrast

Love the contrasting words at the end, and the 68 buttons.
