lives rise red in the smoke filled corners
as I'm loving you
sight unseen
you don't notice my smile
and how it burns for you

I watch your lips pull back against your teeth
in one of your million famous grins
I still shake when you wink
in my direction

in any moment
many moments
you make me feel new again
and smoky red
without a scar to trace
much like freedom rang
on days warm from your love
minus a mother's bruises

melting fingers
make sticky love
to my caramel scented
locks
eyes like instant memories
old love
ignited
