My bed is a prison,
One of my own necessity.

I close my eyes and you call to me,
From a place not seen.

Absent in the darkness,
Your embrace haunts the threshold of my being.

Restlessly I search for the comfort your presence allows,
To no avail.

My memory refusing to fail me,
I am tormented with the knowledge of our loves last caress.

My body covets that which cannot be felt,
Faded warmth that has left me cold.

Your voice rings silent upon my ears,
An mere echo of a sweet melody from days since past.

A breath without your scent is fruitless,
As if to endeavor a feast without nourishment.

My heart is truthful in that this time shall pass,
Yet my body lies restless, entombed in solitude,

Take solace in this my dearest,
My love and my faith in you shall never falter.

Our paths are forever entwined,
These days are not without number.

For this I pledge to you,
A return that shall not be denied.

Very nice.

I like it.

I'm not aware of your story, but the emotions evoked by this poem are wide ranging and real.
