I am not a fool
And this is not the fool’s journey.

This is my life, man
It is not a mockery.

O curse of Dan,
I know your master plan
And I don't want to be a part of it.

I don’t have rivers
Named after me on the maps
High rise trees providing
Cool shades
For the way-farer’s sleep
Or a stone pillow for Jacob’s dream.

But at the end
I will purify my blood,
I will have my native names over your name,
I will reclaim my fatherland
From Shusha to Memphis
From Skellig to the far reaches of Gretna Green.

Do you think
You will dazzle me
In this Gnostic Maya, in this maze of visions
In this plateau of platonic illusions?

You are dead wrong, my boy
You are dead wrong.

Do you foresee
Another
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest- treatment
For me?
O for God sake's, no
I won't be a freak show.

I will not prescribe a fabricated insanity
Out of my fragmented mind.

No, I will not do that.

Because man, I know who I am
I am not from the Tribe of Dan.

Which I will never be.

You can not delude me
With baby pranks of Zen.

Like Citizen Kane
I won't utter Rosebud
On my death bed at Xanadu
When I plunder my last breath.

I want to regain
-The Paradise Lost
Like every body else
But I don't want to read the heavy stuff
Written by John Milton.

Like Jesus,
I want to be treated like a king,
I want a sensual Shambala experinece
With many concubines
At the hidden kingdom.

Or lavishing the joys of Valhalla
Mead from the goats,
Having sex with Valkyries.

As you see Dan,
I am a simple man
With simple needs.

So don't push or test me anymore.

O defeated dragon,
Don't you see
Your temples are overturned,
Your serpent wings are broken
Which brought darkness to my sky,
Drought on my land.

O slithering Dan,
O curse of Nephilim, flower of Lilith
You are such a prick,
You are such a nut case
I will crash you into pieces
No matter where or when.

Ok! You won the game,
I quit
It is all yours now
Tell me, Dan my man
What is the price tag I should pay
For my overall redemption now and then?

5 grands?
Maybe 10?
You name it.

I will give half of my pay check
Dearly, dearly
I want my sanity back.

Do me a favor, Dan, Darn or Damn
What ever they call you?
Leave me out of your s.h.i.t, Ok!
Don't mess with me anymore,
Just go.

Don't you see?
I am not the man,
I am not the man
You are looking for.

Kinda beat-y

You're reminding me of the beat movement here, with this controlled rant style. This is a damn fine piece, and I really enjoy your voice. I could hear it aloud, which I see as a good sign that your language is your own. Very, very well done. Thanks.

Wow. This piece took SEVERAL readings to get all the nuances. Very deep, rich wording. Great job. Thanks.
