Bring back the slow,
because sharp tire marks
and streetlights' cold
cones of faux day
shines an overrated
script on the asphalt
of a strained city's
conceptual overflow.

Bring back the breath,
that the million-minded
myriad has been out of
since the siren shrieks
of 6:30 alarm clocks
beat the dream out of
all it's foggy temples.

Bring back the time
when the day could slice
into fifteen minute
breathers spacing
on familiar pavement,
meeting, greeting
the same old yesterday.

Bring back the sun
that cast clear shadows
and danced glowing
in tall grass and in
my kin's carefree eyes
shining through lies
and curtains alike.

Or keep it.
I will make anew,
the sun, the time,
the breath and the slow.
Through science and city
this age will glow.

If only...
Bring back You
to Me.
