To scream with your mouth shut, no frowns, no smiles
To see both the past and future, without eyes for miles
You heart beats fast, only when you’re dead
You question your mind, you question your head
Are you the only one living in the steps you’ve walked
Have you thought of the words that others have talked
Are shadows the reflections of our body or our heart
Alone, we are one, together, still, we are apart
Just as a flower given flourishes, wilts and dies
Many of life’s emotions can be mistaken for lies
“I love you, no I love you more”
Can be interpreted as happiness, or a festering sore
You laugh at this; you think you’re too young
But how many times have these words brushed you tongue
To feel love that is true, to experience love that is right
Your soul is at peace; your mind and conscience do not fight
If you can sleep sound and snooze well at night
The path you have chosen may not prove well, but right.
