Fingers of the wind,
Gently patting at my face.
Be with me children of the storm.
Dance in the wind.

Crunching under my feet,
You transform
Ice tomorrow, feathers for now
Seductive is your dance, I must not stay.

So easy it would be to sit and let you gather about me
In wonder at your purity.
Some things mortals cannot endure for long.
I know it is cold, I am tired.

Just for a moment I will sit, and listen to your song.
Watching you fall over my legs and arms
Feeling my face being kissed.
Such a loving touch. I wish I could fly with you in the wind

In the morning where the snow lies deep
Someone trips over the girl buried in the snowdrift.
Cold as cold. She is smiling.
She got her wish.
