I stand alone, watchin as my life slips from me.
The darkness of my new self chilling me to the bone.
So this is who I am...
A shell of a once happy carefree child;
Now a maimed, worried woman.
A woman dwelling on painful memories of happier times,
When the world was my friend:
And life meant living.

So this is what I have become...
Another person barely surviving to see tomorrow;
Wishing that this is a horrible nightmare, that will soon end.
Reaching out for something that isn't there;
A helping hand, a calm, gentle voice.
But nothing is there.
I am alone in this cold, darkness that some call life.
