The air grows heavy
there is a sudden stillness.
My heart begins to work
at a fevered pitch.
My eyes flutter and open
to reveal her standing above me,
my tension is soothed
by her fragrance.
She is smiling,
but her eyes betray me with her
true emotions.
She turns her back to me
and stares out the window,
at nothing.
I see, glistening in the moonlight
the body I have caressed
only in fantasy.
I struggle to free my body
from the tangled bedsheets,
but they have been charmed by Venus
and hold me in their grasp.
Vainly, like some lesser God I thrash,
but she has tempted Adonis…Victorious.
She comes to my imprisoned form
and I take her once again…
In dreams
