Sitting in my hot tub stew
thinking only, thinking of you
yesterday, the day before
adventure not sold in some store,

In hot water thinking of her
minor things we all endure
latitude and cosmic grief
the malice of the time thief,

It’s Monday morning, or so they say
will good fortune come my way?
as it has, oft’ before
is that a knock on the door?

I grab a towel, and then think not
turn the nob, twist the lock
they’re standing there, her and you
each seems to know what to do,

I offer coffee, they accept
secrets that we all have kept
write them down, our friends all say
which I promise I will do, someday …
