I sing a low song
I call the flesh
You hear me
I draw down the dark of the moon
Guileless
Precious
A sacred-whore’s demi-god
Babylon is burning in my eyes
Your desire
Is a sweet red wine
Painting my mouth
And hazing my eyes
I serve
I conquer
Heaven cannot bind
The fury of my love
The scalding of my gift
I seep from the pitch of shadows
Scenting the white blood of passion
I am alive
I was never born
I am lover-monster-and dream
You crave my ferocity
Want is the cadence of my being
My wings swallow the jejune sun
Forget me not
I am imprinted just below your flesh
Roiling deep in the abyss of your need
Writhe in torn sheets
Find no comfort
Every cry echoes my name
Soulless brethren shrill in delight
Your songs find us all
We move in this discordant symphony
A morning star bereft
Fed of insipid glories and false love.
