Sonja

I waited for her the airport lounge
My heart doing somersaults,
my mind a mess of mixed thoughts and emotions.
I kept trying to organize what I would do,
what I would say, when I saw her again,
but it was impossible.

I hadn’t seen her for so long,
it had been months and there she was;
walking out from customs,
carry-on bag in hand walking towards me.
A smile of pure happiness was on both our faces.
it seemed like I moved slow motion till I reached her,
I couldn’t hold back any longer;
I grabbed her into my arms and pressing my lips onto hers,
I couldn’t stop I just kept kissing her over and over.

After her first shock wore off she started to kiss me back,
hard and fast, I couldn’t stop.
My hands kept roaming all up and down her back and arms,
trying to remember all the curves and crevices of her body,
and learning where all the new ones were.

All the emotion of having to leave her
with out finishing what I had just begun to realize overwhelmed me,
I cried there in her arms, and she cried back,
I was so glad to see her again,
to be able to finish what I wasn’t able to away,
I didn’t think that it would be possible,
I was so glad it was.
