America you've given me nothing.
Soon you'll ask me for everything.
America 3000 lives September 11, 2001.
I can't stand the lies.
America remember the Reichstag.
I'm so tired, America.
When will I be inspired again?

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself."

America why can’t you listen?
When will you learn?
America why do you cry wolf?
No one will care when it matters, no matter.
Your bombs are too much for them.
Are ten thousand innocents and a thousand soldiers worth one Hussein?
Are you insane America?
What logic is that, what facts do you have that I don’t?
I don't trust you America.
America you're the macho asshole who pushes people around,
demands attention, the biggest terrorist there's ever been.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful - and so are we, they never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people - and neither do we."

Remain vigilant America.
Watch for foreigners and suspicious activities.
America how can I trust these vague warnings alarming me of impending doom?
America when will I be proud again?
I'm talking to you America, why do you turn away?
I pray every day, America.
I didn't expect you to know that, but the facts that I have
tell me that my life could be yours for no apparent reason.
America I am accusing you of treason.

"The world knows that America will never start a war. This generation of Americans has had enough of war and hate, we want to build a world of peace where the weak are secure and the strong are just."

Fuck your new-age policies America, they aren’t working.
I don’t like your war-first mentality, and America it’s clear to me you have other motives.
When will you be able to look me in the eyes and not lie America?
America I’m tired of sifting through your lies and the infinite ways you disguise them.
I turn on the teevee and they tell me it’s all fin(it)e.
Online, I turn to foreign feeds and you wouldn’t believe the chaos.
America I see the lives lost and the costs paid and the sacrifices they’ve made for your greed.
If you were an old man with his lawyer, this is where he would rebuttal with your greatness.
The scores of lives saved and freedom restored, it’s sad that some die, the ultimate sacrifice.
Then I would cut with sharp remarks, quips about antique policies that advance terrorism.
And you’d stammer and stutter, America all flustered.
I’d tell you that your wars are unjustified and so are the lies that brought us to war in the first place, your disgrace should be evident on your face at this point, and I’d shame you to death.
America I remember My Lai.
And it happened again, in prisons?
America you’re the same as you were before, and I abhor your war crimes.

“War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.”

I'm sick of your demands.
America I watch as you plan wars with ambitions for this skin.
This blood, spilled in the cradle of life, and for what, America?
America where are the terrorists?
America ask your friends in Saudi Arabia.
America don’t forget Vietnam.
America leave Iraq alone.
America I am not going to forget those thirty-six days after the 2000 election.
America Al Gore is my president.
America remember the red scare.
America the land of the fear and the home of the 'fraid.
America you don't really want to go to war.
America I thought we were better than this.

"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."

America where have your leaders gone?
You have a man who can only grasp simple matters, read to him by close advisors.
He’s admitted newspapers aren’t his flavor; on an intellectual level, Presidents fall no further.
When will the people have power America?
Why do you fuck around on us America?
You play us for fools, conniving with thriving corporations.
America, you are not the nation I’ve read about.
You must have been so beautiful in your youth, America.
Do you feel used now America?
Uncle Sam does not approve.
America you watch men whore your flag,
gag it down the public's throat, and gloat
about the biggest fuck-up of their tenure.
America you're stuck up and I still don't trust you and your views,
or having you choose whether I die in the desert.
America you don't really want to go to war.
America I thought we were better than this, but
Soon, you’ll ask.

please

if you have not registered to vote, do so, and that means everyone, regardlessof party affiliation. The major problem with this country ( in my opinion), is apathy. Get off your butts and VOTE or someday, there might be a gunamn holding a pistol to your head telling you who to vote FOR :)

Poetic Rant!

I really like this, cerul, but I think if you edited it down some and reformatted it, it would be very very powerful--even more so than it already is. Needless to say, I agree with the sentiment, especially the frustration you've expressed so well.
