Soothe Me

Images of you run through my head
As I lie awake at night
Thinking of all the things you said
And the way that you held me tight

Remembering how you loved me so
Your touch, your lips, your kiss
Feelings so deep just seemed to flow
I’m lost - memories of pure bliss

I drift off and dream, so much in love
Knowing the feelings run deep
I dream of the beach, the sun above
So happy, even when I’m asleep

Then a change, I wake and struggle with tears
As each night in bed I lie
Trying to still my nightmares and fears
As I softly give way and cry

I need you to hold me and soothe my fears
I need to be in your arms
I need you to stem the flow of my tears
I need you to keep me from harm
