tangled up in so many blankets,
the nights sweat finally gone,
and rain drops patter against the window.

a slow turn into your warm embrace,
while the sun lights over your arm,
and a soft sigh fills the silence.

watching as your eyes slowly open,
and a half smile forms,
with the massive yawn of awakening.

whispery murmers as you rustle the sheets,
surrounded in comfortable warmth,
cocooned away from the world.

light airy giggles,
turn to soft breathless moans,
as the rain washes away the numb.

That first moment upon awakening when you turn into your lover's warm embrace ~ familiar - yet eternally new. Beautiful!

Rain and sun mixed?

Okay, I'll buy that even if I hadn't seen it;

My only qualm is with one word - patter.

It evokes images of children's little feet as they come in to disturb their parents' play;

Perhaps instead of tapping, the raindrops tap? Just one possible suggestion.
