Souls come in many colours.
Younger ones
on maiden voyages
are bright and shiny
yellow red
they sparkle when you touch them
and vibrate like a crystal bell.
Older souls are mostly grey
or maybe blue.
They do not vibrate
nor do they shine.
They sit reptilian
blinking now and then.
Young souls must feed on carnal life
must chase
the press of flesh
the momentary loss of consciousness
the scent and taste
of male and female
dewed with sweat
incarnate.
When old souls
conjoin
there is no violence
no poke and thrust
just a slow and soundless melding
almost timeless
sub-sonic
dark and sated
intermingled
perfect union.
