Somewhere south of serenity

shedding pride like winters coat;
eyes boldly heaven bound
crushing shards of self worth

with obliging boots.

Skepticism crashes in
waves drenching faith,
high cerulean blue memories

of doubt.

Defiance hangs like mist,
jagged from this journey
forever roaming somewhere

just south of serenity.
