last night we were
bullet flung
staggered in the dark
like the sound of bottles
kicked in alleys
clattered
in my ears
we seared the flesh
of wanton couples
darkeyed, jaded
wrinkles powdered away
each a secret smile shared
like weapon targets.
The ladies
with their daggers hidden
in tight stipper dresses
flashing their wares and money
to teen pop music
every couple looking for that
*spark*
I drove us to safe haven
a coven
of pansexual pagans
mixed up, strung out
on bonfire highs
the pointed teeth told me
though the music's sweet,
we're still all strangers here
in the dark
looking for that
*spark*
You took my hand
and steered me toward
our last sanctuary--
a fortress full of
trigger happy testostrone
girls, made up like
sisters, nurses
and whores
all with heat seeking missle nipples
the men
dull eyed,
placid
hypnotised by flesh flashing
before them.
I am leaning, laughing
at their open mouths
gaping like fishes
wanting flesh
handing dollars
fist over fist
to feel special
each desperately seeking
in stripper's hips
a tiny little
*spark*
