Curse these lips,
this vexing pair!
spoilers of wit,
harbingers of certain
eternal bachelordom!

How I loathe you.
Twin obstacles barring
the path of
internal eloquence.

If not required to part,
so sustenance may be granted,
sharp needle and thread would
forever bind you together.

Free I'd be then to truly
say what lurks within.
Take this barren quill.
Thrust it first to heart,
then to brain and let it
drink it's fill.

Words flow, glorious tide.
conjured from my self-made ink.
Boldly coy, charms infinite.
They'd take a second glance then.
Twice, thrice, MORE!

I'd turn seamster in an instant
and not one stitch I'd miss!
Oh, how I would if only I could
live life without a kiss.
