Mornings are all well and good
Seems then I have the time
To do the things I should.
Maybe today I'll escape the grime
That spring deposits on the walk.

I wanna see some green,
But it's too early yet.
I wanna jump into a time machine
And leap into the tomorrow you forget,
As soon as another day comes along.

That's the adventure of it all,
To accept the challenge set out.
Fearing most the long, screaming fall
And never feeling a single doubt.
It will be the landing that kills ya.

Yeah, mornings are all well and good,
Gives me time, to play the fool,
To face the day and plan what I would,
To shape my life with a grinding tool
And deposit my winter soil on the walk.

Another hue

Like the lengthening days of Spring and Summer, your writing continues to expand and grow.

I think the natural, down-to-earth feeling of this poem is wonderful.

Thanks Champagne :)

A Winter Landing ?

"Fearing most the long, screaming fall

And never feeling a single doubt.

It will be the landing that kills ya."

I like the double play, although I am not sure what an autumnal shreik sounds like.
