Stained glass tears

Poetry melts words into tears that shatter on the face of tragedy, of loss
Of heart chocked moments and still blood

A gap is left in the world were once there was infant life
And the night is not adorned with enough cries to stop the bleeding of sweet and all too tender memories
The thought of solace falls from its throne into pits of despair, were self-made demons eat away its elegance
Naked and bare, it is left a defiled craving for a hungry and desperate mind

Love turns to winter
As questions and lost days weep, and scream, and break
Hope is beaten into ruin by wipes and rods of emptiness
Its voice escapes as a broken prayer
With no fire
No wings

The broken hearted become shuttles crying on launch pads
Pushed by blazing memories, held by tragedy’s chains
Tearing apart their walls in frenzied sorrow
Wishing to find a home for all the love decaying in their engines

Souls dream of endless nights as dawn beckons final goodbyes
Poetry fades to arrows of morning light that rain on tired flesh
A beautiful shell of life departed is placed into the hands of the earth
Plastic flowers and silent requiems slumber upon the young grave
As the restless dry their stained glass tears
