Late summer evening sky grew reddish pink
then liquid blue over the long, low roofs;
the blackout turned the landscape flat and grey
and silence slipped in with the dark.
Our backs against the wall we sat and stared,
our arms around each other's shoulders, still,
contented, at the wide expanse of blue
that deepened until finally it turned
into a starshot field of sable - not
quite dark, but almost. Suddenly we saw
a star come down a narrow line of light
and wished our wish upon it - then one more
and yet another until all the sky
had lost each tiny speck of light - and we
outrun our stock of wishes, by and by.

well done

especial last three lines 1.typo? should be "outran"? 2. I don't think you need the punctuation other than a few commas to separate ideas

There's an ease here, both in words and image.
