Still
“Still” said the Angel
as she cradled the heads
of the couple who slept
in their old marriage bed.
“Still” said the Angel
to the girl on the street
bike wheels still spinning
as her heart stopped its beat.
“Still” said the Angel
as She stretched out her wings
and covered the battle field
playground of Kings.
“Still” said the Angel
to the wino who cried.
As she lowered his head
he smiled and died.
“Still” said the Goddess
to Her Angel of death.
“Your work’s finished now.
Sit still- take a breath.”
