setting June sun
skims the mirror
of a clear dome
cyan to opaque
flaming cotton clusters
shine silent, serene
both above and below
in that singularis
between up and down
perfect symmetric islands
hover stuck
from here to horizon
we sit
in warm, welcoming sand
headlight hypnotised
in the origo
of an anacrusis
from eardrum to eternity
and not a single sound
one stone
just one pebble
would break the illusion
and it will
eventually
but this time
it lasts
in the universe
between a blink
and a breath
four seconds
of clamour absolution
to last
a lifetime
between a blink
and a breath
four seconds
of clamour absolution
I can feel the still in this poem and hold my breath not to disturb it.
I look forward with real anticipation to your poem submissions and this is a perfect example why. You write with such a balance of precision and delicacy. It gives your poems an ethereal clarity that few achieve.
I come so late to the new poems, almost as they get shunted aside for yet more, but this is such a lovely piece I read it aloud. I felt the "still"ness.
I thought I was the only one with a 150% perfect still moment like that stored away in my memory. You captured it so perfect.
