Time had stopped to give us all he could.
free from the past, the future was so far away.
Rains fell keeping us indoors
to talk of a future that would never be.
You set my spirit free to soar;
only to return to the grave,
where your unspoken promises lie burning.
I found myself alone before you had even gone.
The smile was gone from your lips
though they still sought mine.
Then I met her,
I found someone new looking through my eyes
Not searching for you anymore,
but for the parts of me that you stole.
